The Artful Conspirators are a Brooklyn-based collective of theatre artists dedicated to creating new theatrical work that includes the audience as a participant in the theatre-making process. The Conspirators aim to nurture the work of both emerging and established artists through developmental workshops, full productions and education programs.
The Artful Conspirators were born fully formed from the thigh of Zeus during a workshop production of A Lesson in Art as part of Puppet Blok! at Dixon Place in the winter of 2007. Since that first production, the Conspirators have created and performed The Oral Tradition: Reclaiming and Rebirthing the Hero’s Journey, Whitman’s Brooklyn, The Second Pipe of Desire, Survival, Brooklyn Underground: Theatrical Stories from the Green-Wood Cemetery, Leaving IKEA: A play in two cantos and the Open Rehearsal Series. For more about the productions, visit our History page.
The Artful Conspirators is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions on behalf of The Artful Conspirators may be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Support the Conspirators now.
